Around 7:00 p.m. on June 5, a Loudon road racer was out riding with some friends and hit a car that pulled out in front of him. His name is Andrew Soper (26). He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious head trauma, shattered arm, pelvis, collarbone, broken nose, and serious internal injuries. Both lungs were punctured and part of his small intestines had to be removed. He underwent over 10 hours of surgery the night of June 5 and as of the afternoon of June 6 was moving his fingers and squinting his eyes while under his drug-induced coma.

The doctors do not yet know the extent of damage caused by the head trauma until he wakes up and comes off the assisted breathing. Andrew needs our prayers for his long and painful recovery.
