AHRMA, NJMP look to grow Vintage Motorcycle Festival in second season of partnership July 11-13, 2014 Vintage motorcycle road racing returns to Millville’s Thunderbolt Raceway MILLVILLE, N.J. – The Vintage Motorcycle Festival, featuring the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association, is back next season – and looking to grow. Moving back from its early August date, the event will be held during the July 11-13, 2014 weekend at Thunderbolt Raceway. In 2013, the event brought hundreds of participants, in addition to crowds of vintage motorcycle enthusiasts from around the mid-Atlantic region. AHRMA, which traces its roots to the late 1970’s, offers vintage national and regional road racing, motocross, dirt track, observed trials and cross-county competition. The vintage machines featured in the association’s events span a full 50 years, from the 1920s to the early 1920s. AHRMA Road Racing also features “modern” alternative classes for single, twin, and three-cylinder machines. Other tracks on the 2014 AHRMA tentative schedule include Sonoma Raceway, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, and Daytona International Speedway, among others. “We felt last year was a great start to this event, and we’re looking to further grow it as a whole in 2014,” said Brad Scott, NJMP general manager. “Word quickly spread about the swap meet, vendors, and everything else we had going on throughout the weekend. We expect an even better turnout from competitors and spectators this July.” AHRMA’s visit is the second New Jersey Motorsports Park event to be announced this October, with the SCCA U.S. Majors Tour recently confirming their June 6-8, 2014 event earlier this week.
