Motul and Pirelli Signed as the 2019 ASBK Naming Rights Sponsors

Motul and Pirelli have cemented their commitment to the Australian Superbike Championship by signing on as naming rights partner for 2019, once again bringing their globally renowned brands to Australia’s premier motorcycle road racing series the Motul Pirelli Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK).

The agreement sees Motul and Pirelli broadening their long-standing involvement in the championship, having been a valued presented by partner with the ASBK since 2015 before stepping up to naming rights partner for the 2019 season.

Motorcycling Australia (MA) is pleased to welcome back these international brands to the series and are excited to see the long-standing partnership grow into the future. Both Motul and Pirelli are synonymous with motorsport both nationally and internationally and the brands are a perfect fit for one of the world’s top domestic motorcycle racing championships.

“We are proud to announce the new partnership between MA, Motul and Pirelli” said MA CEO Peter Doyle. “Motul and Pirelli have supported the ASBK for a number of years now, and it’s fantastic to have their increased participation in 2019.

“The fact that they have moved into the naming rights sponsor’s role really speaks to their commitment to the ASBK, and we thank them for enabling us to continue to grow the championship.”

Link International CEO Brenden Stoeckert, Australian distributors for Motul and Pirelli, was proud to announce the increased commitment for 2019.

“The 2019 Motul Pirelli Australian Superbike Championship promises to be one of the biggest and best seasons yet, and we are proud to have supported the series through its recent growth to become an internationally recognised brand within the motorcycle racing community” said Stoeckert.

“Both Motul and Pirelli are brands associated with excellence, passion, and technology. The ASBK is a perfect fit to help us tell the story of these brands to motorcyclists across Australia.

“We can’t wait to bring this racing spirit to the ASBK once again in 2019.”

Motul and Pirelli each bring over 100 years of experience and pedigree to the series, with successes in some of the sport’s most prestigious locations and competitions.

Motul Oils pioneered the formulation of a 100% synthetic lubricant for automotive engines back in 1971. Since then Motul has gained experience by being the official supplier for many major teams in international competitions including the MotoGP World Championship, FIM Superbike World Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans and FIM Motocross World Championship.

Pirelli tyres are synonymous with Motorcycles; and for over 100 years Pirelli have produced tyres to suit all forms of motorcycling – with racing being part of Pirelli DNA and Passion. Nothing highlights this passion as the 20-year commitment Pirelli has made as the exclusive tyre supplier of World SBK and the support of the ASBK.

The 2019 Motul Pirelli Australian Superbike Championship will kick off the seven round 2019 season at the opening round of the World Superbike Championship, to be held at Phillip Island on 21-24 February.
