Today the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) filed a voluntary petition for relief under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. This is a direct result of a challenging 2018 season where adverse weather had a tremendous impact on overall event participation. Additionally, financial projections based on sustained unfounded legal attacks are simply unsustainable in the near and longer term.
During this reorganization period, the CMRA intends to continue day-to-day operations and proceed with our announced 2019 race schedule (event details atcmraracing.com). Upon emerging from this process the goal is a restructured CMRA with streamlined operations free from the constraints of unjustified legal actions.
