Turner Oppy, of Durham, North Carolina, has won the auction of a 2014 Triumph Trophy SE touring motorcycle donated to benefit the Roadracing World Action Fund and help save motorcycle racers from being injured at racetracks.
On December 13, the Roadracing World Action Fund (RWAF) announced the auction of the former demo bike generously donated by George Latus’ Latus Motors Triumph dealership in Portland, Oregon. It was announced that the person who placed the highest bid over $7,999 before 12:00 p.m. (noon) Pacific Time on December 31 would not only receive this never-registered motorcycle, but would also get their name or their company’s name or logo (24 inches long, with logo subject to approval by RWAF and MotoAmerica) applied to the upper corner of a section of Airfence deployed at a MotoAmerica (or other racing) event in the United States– giving the bidder credit for doing a good thing, on top of getting a great motorcycle!
Oppy won the auction with a bid of $8,507.
