2008 FIM Endurance World Championship To Have One New Title Sponsor, Six Rounds, 20 Permanent Teams

QTEL Endurance World Championship 2008 calendar New title sponsor Meetings were held by the FIM with the organisers of all the events mentioned in the calendar below on December 4, and with 24 teams interested in taking part in the 2008 season on December 7 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Geneva, in order to draw a balance of the 2007 season and to prepare together the 2008 season. The FIM will maintain the same system of permanent teams. The maximum number of permanent teams admitted for 2008 will be 20, and the list will be published early January. The permanent teams commit themselves to take part in all the rounds of the World Championship. The new title sponsor of the FIM Endurance World Championship is QTEL, the Telephone Company of Qatar. The full Endurance World Championship Regulations with all modifications will be available on the FIM website. The event in Oschersleben will be of 8 Hours on Saturday 9 August. The Bol d’Or will take place a week earlier, on September 13/14. The round scheduled in Estoril will not take place. The calendar is the following: Tentative 2008 QTEL Endurance World Championship Calendar: April 19-20 Le Mans, France 24 Hours May 10 Albacete, Spain 6 Hours July 27 Suzuka, Japan 8 Hours August 9 Oschersleben, Germany 8 Hours September 13-14 Bol d’Or, France 24 Hours November 8 Losail, Qatar 8 Hours
