2010 UtahSBA Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains Series Opens This Coming Weekend At Miller Motorsports Park

Local Racing Championships Open 2010 Season at Miller Motorsports Park This Weekend TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (April 22, 2010) “” Miller Motorsports Park’s two amateur racing championships, the Miller Park Racing Association presented by Sunoco Race Fuels (MPRA) for sports cars and the Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains series for motorcycles, open their 2010 seasons this weekend. The MPRA was formed in 2006 to build local and regional racing. Drivers compete for trophies and points toward the championship in 11 classes: Open Wheel, Sport Racer, Spec Miata, Legends Cars, Mustang Challenge, GT, GT3, Super Production, Super Sport, Touring and Thunder Roadsters. Race weekends are held regularly from April through October. This weekend is the first round of this year’s seven-round championship. Each round is comprised of two races and includes separate practice and qualifying sessions, heat races and features races on both Saturday and Sunday. Drivers will be racing on the 2.18-mile West Course, competing for trophies and points toward the series championship. The Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountains series, developed by Miller Motorsports Park, operated by the Utah Sportbike Association (www.UtahSBA.com) and sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association, was created to encourage and develop fun and competitive road racing at the club and regional levels. This weekend is the first round of this year’s seven-race championship. Riders will be competing on the 2.24-mile East Course in 19 different classes for contingency money (provided by sponsors for using their products), trophies and points toward the series championship. This weekend’s racing action will also include the third of five rounds for the Icebreaker Kart Championship presented by Sunoco Race Fuels at the Miller Kart Track on Saturday. Ticket prices for the weekend are $6 for adults and kids 13 and over. Kids 12 years old and younger are free of charge. The Ace Café and the Clubhouse will be open for food service.
