SONOMA, Calif. “” The 17th annual 3J’s Motorcycle Track Day raised more than $22,000 for charity on Wednesday at Infineon Raceway. The event kicked off festivities for this weekend’s Great Clips® West Coast Moto Jam, which will feature AMA Pro Road Racing, Supermoto USA and TTXGP electric motorcycles. Nearly 100 riders converged on the raceway for a day of recreational riding around the 12-turn, 2.28-mile road course, which also featured a catered lunch, T-shirt, raffle and an evening reception. All proceeds from the event will go to qualified youth groups in Sonoma County through Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. “I like riding and the excitement of all the bikes and the people who come out for the day; getting to see a lot of the same people year after year,” said Santa Rosa’s Bernard Woessner, who has participated in 16 of 17 3J’s Motorcycle Days events. “I’ve got a lot of these t-shirts stacked up on a shelf. It’s a great way to raise money.” “We had great weather today, a great crowd and raised a lot of money for charity,” said Jenah Smith, operations coordinator at Infineon Raceway and co-manager of 3J’s Motorcycle Days. “This is one of my favorite days of the year, and I’m proud to be part of it.” 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days have generated more than $300,000 for Speedway Children’s Charities since 2003. Smith, along with Jere Starks, Vice President of Faculties and Operations at Infineon Raceway, and Santa Rosa’s Jim Randolph, run the 3J’s program. For more information, visit 3Jsmotorcycledays.com.
