3J’s Motorcycle Track Days to Host Benefit for Dave Stanton at Sonoma Raceway SONOMA, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2013) – Motorcycle riders can indulge their passion and help one of their own on Monday, Nov. 18, as Sonoma Raceway and 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days host a benefit for injured rider Dave Stanton. The day will center on the 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days’ 19th charity event in Sonoma, with all proceeds going directly to Stanton. Participants will enjoy a full day of riding on the 12-turn road course, a catered lunch and T-shirt. It’s truly the perfect day for any two-wheel enthusiast. Cost is $250 and all riding levels are welcome. Stanton, a Bay Area resident and long-time American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) competitor, suffered a crushed spine and internal injuries as the result of a racing crash on June 2.The accident left Stanton paralyzed from the chest down, and he faces ongoing challenges in recovery, including financial concerns. The 3J’s Track Day will work to raise as much money as possible for Stanton and his family. “I’ve been racing for 22 years with AFM, AMA, FIM and WERA, and I never expected this to happen to me,” said Stanton. “I loved being part of these organizations and look forward to attending the track day benefit and auction. I hope to see many of you out there and truly appreciate the continued support.” Some of motorcycle racing’s top stars will be on hand to show their support for Stanton, including AMA Pro Racing riders Josh Hayes, Melissa Paris, Jake Zemke, James Rispoli, Steve Rapp and many more. The day’s activities will also include two-up rides with Jason Pridmore and Shawn Reilly, a track walk with national racers discussing their favorite sections of the race course, raffles for a new Yamaha WR250 motorcycle and a custom Helimot Leather Racing Suit, and a silent auction. The day will conclude with a trackside evening reception. Items up for bid in the silent auction include Yamaha MotoGP memorabilia signed by Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies, Tommy Hayden, Cameron Baubier and Garrett Geroff; MotoGP ticket packages; Pirelli, Dunlop, and Bridgestone motorcycle tires; Motion Pro tools, racing parts, and clothing; overnight hotel stays; a luxury yacht charter package in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; an Arlen Ness leather racing suit; Z2 Track Day 10-pack gift certificates; helmets, racing products, gift certificates and much more! Motorcycle industry vendors will be present to support the day’s activities by providing services and products for the all of attendees, whether they are riding on the track or attending to show their support for Stanton and his family. 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days events have raised more than $275,000 for worthy causes since 2003.
