Fort Worth, Texas May 10, 2006 The Championship Cup Series and American Sportbike Racing Association today announced that the 6th Annual Festival of Speed, June 24th-25th at Virginia International Raceway, will also be an official Wegman Benefit Fund weekend in honor and memory of friend and staff member Paul Farrell. “This is actually the 4th Annual Paul Farrell Memorial weekend.” said head of CCS, Kevin Elliott. “We have been honoring his memory each year at Roebling Road Raceway but with the upcoming repaving of Roebling’s track, the location needed to be changed.” Paul Farrell was the Race Director for CCS’ SouthEast Region prior his death on the way to work a CCS race weekend at V.I.R. in July 2002. “The Wegman Fund is excited to be the recipient of funds from the Paul Farrell Memorial event at V.I.R.,” said Gordon Lunde, President and Founder of Wegman. “The continued support from the CCS/ASRA racers in the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic regions is truly appreciated. We hope it is a great weekend for everyone involved and we look forward to future fund raising activities within your regions. Thank you all for your support and ride safe.” Elliott added, “Paul was a big supporter of the Wegman Benefit Fund. For this reason all donations received during the weekend will be sent in his memory. We hope everyone in attendance will dig deep into their pockets and contribute to this worthy cause.” Donations will be accepted in the Registration area located on the first floor of the North Course Tower.
