Australian Mat Mladin, the seven-time AMA Superbike Champion and all-time career AMA Superbike win record holder, is returning to racing in Australia.

Mladin will back 19-year-old Max Croker, the 2017 Australasian 400 Supersport Champion, in the 2018 Australian Supersport Championship.

Croker will ride a Suzuki GSX-R600 supported by Mladin Racing, Suzuki Motorcycles Australia, Motorex Australia, and AGVSPORT, among other sponsors.

In a video interview posted to the Facebook page of the Australian Superbike Championship, Mladin was asked if he had any plans to come back as a competitor, like three-time Superbike World Champion Troy Bayliss. Mladin said, “Listen, I’ve had my day and I’m happy with what we’ve achieved. I’ve got absolutely no inclination to get back on a racebike again. I’m just going to help out one of the kids, Max Croker, in the 600 class.”
