Adam Robarts and Pirelli Set New Absolute Motorcycle Track Record at Mission Raceway Park

DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE Slicks Capture Pirelli’s Sixth Bounty of the Season

ROME, Ga. – Pirelli would like to congratulate Adam Robarts on capturing the sixth track bounty of the season at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, British Colombia on July 29. Robarts, who was competing aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1 equipped with Pirelli DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE slicks, earned his third record-setting lap of 2017 during the fourth round of the Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club Championship (WMRC). The remarkable accomplishment was the sixth absolute motorcycle track record of the season for Pirelli.

“I couldn’t have done this without the awesome performance of my Pirelli tires,” said Robarts. “The tires exceeded my expectations and did everything that I could have asked for. I believe that the results speak for themselves.”

Robarts used the sunny skies and warm temperatures to his advantage as he broke the track record twice in a single day. During the Superbike race, Robarts set a blistering 108.675 and then followed it up with a 108.540 in the Formula Ultra race, toppling his previous record of 109.209 set earlier this year. Both record-setting times came on the second lap of each race and featured Pirelli’s DIABLO SUPERBIKE SC1 front and SC0 rear tires.

“Everyone at Pirelli is extremely pleased with what Adam [Robarts] has accomplished this season,” said Oscar Solis, Pirelli road racing manager. “The weather provided excellent conditions on the track and Adam was able put his DIABLO SUPERBIKE slicks to work. It’s impressive that he was able to set and then break his own record on the same day.”

The impressive day continued for Robarts as he dominated the field to take the Superbike win by 7.6 seconds and the Formula Ultra victory with 6.7 seconds to spare on his competition. With a great performance, Robarts earned the sixth bounty of the season. Robarts used the double class victories to clinch the series championship in the Superbike and Formula Ultra classes.
