Advance pricing for 2014 tickets ends May 2
Just a few days left to take advantage of the lowest prices of the season
LEXINGTON, OH – With 58 days until its first event of the season, one of America’s most competitive racetracks, the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, is getting ready to kick-off an exciting summer of world-class, high-performance racing. This week is the last chance for race fans to take advantage of the track’s advance ticket pricing, which ends Friday, May 2.
“It’s been a long, cold winter and we are eager to go racing again, and we know our fans are too,” said Craig Rust, President of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. “Mid-Ohio has one of the most varied motorsports and fan experiences in North America and now is the time to get your tickets and take advantage of the lowest prices of the season.”
The 2014 schedule for Mid-Ohio features five events, with something for everyone, from vintage cars to motorcycles, and Indy cars to stock cars. Events taking place this summer are:
Mechanics Bank Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio, June 27-29: Cars from 11 SVRA racing groups with names like Ferraris, Mustangs, Triumph Spitfires and Aston Martins will bring excitement to Mid-Ohio for a weekend rich in motorsports – past, present and future. A highlight for this year’s event is the Mini Challenge, which will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the beloved British marquee.
BikeBandit.com AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, July 11-13: Featuring Indian motorcycles as the marque of 2014, this is the gathering of the year for vintage motorcycle aficionados in the United States. Tens of thousands of two-wheel enthusiasts will gather to view rare vintage bikes, attend a gigantic swap meet and sale, and take in exciting vintage racing events both on-road and off.
Buckeye Superbike Weekend Presented by Dunlop Tire, July 19-20: AMA Pro Racing hits Mid-Ohio’s 15-turn, 2.4-mile track with four major racing series that will keep two-wheeled racing enthusiasts on the edges of their seats. Taking to the track that weekend: AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike, AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SuperBike, AMA Pro Motorcycle Superstore.com SuperSport and AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series.
The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, August 1-3: The Verizon IndyCar Series visits Mid-Ohio for the 30th time. Legendary past winners include Andretti, Castroneves, Fittipaldi, Rahal, Unser and Franchitti. In addition to the Verizon IndyCar Series headlining the weekend, the following series will also be run: the Pirelli World Challenge and the entire Mazda Road to Indy ladder with Indy Lights, Pro Mazda Championship and USF2000 National Championship.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200, August 15-16: NASCAR’s brand of motor racing excitement invades Mid-Ohio in a very special event with a special sponsor and beneficiary. Last year, 40 cars were on the grid with championship contenders throughout providing fans of all ages with excitement that rivals any other form of sports entertainment in the country – all for a good cause with proceeds going to the Columbus-based Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
