By John Ulrich In a phone call to Roadracing World Friday afternoon, Willow Springs Raceway General Manager Chris Huth confirmed that the Rosamond, California racetrack has a tentative date for a WERA event, and also revealed that the track is talking to AFM. “I also spoke with Berto Wooldridge, the new AFM President,” Huth said, “and he said that they would like to invite WSMC racers to race with AFM. He also said that AFM would like to run a race here. He said he might be able to add one at the end of their schedule this year and if not, next year. So there’s a possibility that we might have an AFM race here this year, too. And we’ll continue our excellent relationship with ARMHA, and they’ll be here the last weekend in April. “So it appears that we may have a couple WERA races and a couple AFM races at Willow Springs in 2013 and probably a couple in 2012,” Huth continued. “I’ve worked with WERA before and I’m looking forward to working with them again. And I’m looking forward to working with AFM, also. I’ve always wanted to have several different clubs racing here.” Returning a phone call by Roadracing World, AFM’s Wooldridge said, “If it’s 2012 it would be the second half of 2012 but we really want to do something at Willow Springs for 2013. We really want to expand the tracks AFM has in 2013.”
