Works Performance to sponsor 2006 AHRMA roadrace series The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association is pleased to announce suspension manufacturer Works Performance Products as the 2006 title sponsor of the Historic Cup roadrace series. The AHRMA series features machines ranging from Harley-Davidson handshifters up through the early 1980s and the beginning of the Superbike era, racing on some of the nation’s premier tracks. The organization also offers Sound of Singles, Battle of Twins and Sound of Thunder classes for modern single-, twin- and three-cylinder racers. In 1973, Works Performance (www.worksperformance.com) began producing unique off-road shock absorbers with a revolutionary damping system, and proving its design by winning championships. Today Works builds shocks for off-road machines, ATVs, high-performance street bikes and custom cruisers, plus a huge range of vintage motorcycles. Every shock is custom-built to order, based on the machine, rider’s weight and intended use. “We couldn’t be happier about Works Performance Products’ involvement with AHRMA,” said AHRMA Executive Director David Lamberth. “With three decades of experience, Works has been building shocks for a large number of vintage bikes since they were new. So for many AHRMA competitors, on both old and new bikes, Works Performance is synonymous with rear suspension.” The 2006 Works Performance Historic Cup Series includes: * March 3 “” Carolina Motorsports Park, Kershaw, SC * March 6-7 “” Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL * April 29-30 “” Willow Springs Raceway, Rosamond, CA * May 27-28 “” GingerMan Raceway, South Haven, MI * June 17-18 “” Grattan Raceway Park, Grattan, MI * June 24-25 “” BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, Wampum, PA * July 29-30 “” Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH * Sept. 16-17 “” Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, UT * Sept. 23-24 “” Sandia Motor Speedway, Albuquerque, NM * Oct. 21-22 “” Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, AL For the complete AHRMA schedule, racing rules and other information, visit www.ahrma.org or call 615-851-3674.
