AHRMA Announces Winners Of Purse-Paying Two-Stroke Races

AHRMA Two-Stroke Racers win Cash Prizes and Bridgestone Tires at Laguna Seca

(Knoxville TN)  The sight and sound of two-stroke race bikes returned to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

More than 25 two-stroke road racing motorcycles with engines ranging from 125 to 750cc participated in the Open Two-Stroke class during the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association race event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21. The event is part of the Bridgestone Tires AHRMA National Roadracing series

Sixteen of the 27 entrants were racing 250cc motorcycles, followed by seven 125cc and four 250cc+ bikes. 

The 250s dominated the field taking the top podium spots.  On Saturday, Ralph Staropoli, on his 2002 Honda RS250, took the overall win followed by Vince Rollieri, on his 2000 Yamaha TZ250, and Roger Baker, on his 1997 Yamaha TZ250.  On Sunday, Staropoli and Rolleri repeated their performance with Adrian Jasso taking third, on his 2017 500cc Suter.

Ralph Staropoli organized and raised the sponsorship money from a group of individual AHRMA racers as well as from Comstock Energy and Rising Sun Cycles, MojoYamaha, and Blacksheep Racing for a total purse of $3,750 which was paid out for Saturday’s races.

Bridgestone Motorcycle Tires awarded a set of tires for the top winner on Saturday.

Here are Saturday’s winners of the prize money for each tier ($600 for 1st, $400 for 2nd, $200 for 3rd and $50 for 4th):
