AHRMA Classic MotoFest™ Brings Vintage Motorcycle Racing Back to Monterey California July 14-16

Dedicated to keeping vintage motorcycles alive and well, AHRMA returns for its third year.

MONTEREY, Calif.  The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA), will return to the iconic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey County for its third AHRMA Classic MotoFest™ of Monterey.  With the mission of restoring and racing on and off-road vintage motorcycles while appealing to a wide array of different audiences, it’s an event that fits in with the historic aura of the original Laguna Seca.

The July 14-16 AHRMA Classic MotoFest™ of Monterey will be the bookend to a motorcycle week of activities that begins July 7-9 with the return of MotoAmerica’s professional racing series.

“WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is a ‘bucket list’ track for racers across the country and probably all over the planet,” said Carl Anderson, 2023 Chair of the AHRMA Board of Trustees. “Laguna Seca is a classic track and a perfect fit for our classic bikes.   And we’re super excited to put our classic and modern road racers on the repaved surface and see the new pedestrian bridge over the start-finish line.”

The MotoFest weekend will appeal to anyone interested in classic motorcycles. The event features classes for road racing motorcycles and sidecars spanning pre-World War II up to modern single, twin and triple-cylinder and electric-powered racers. It is more common to see some of these bikes in museums, but AHRMA events are a unique opportunity for moto lovers of all ages to watch and enjoy heritage motorcycles in a very interactive experience for guests to enjoy.

Off-road racing for vintage and post vintage bikes will be among the hillsides at the historic facility.  Look for Motocross, Trials and Cross Country racing action all weekend long.  And on Saturday late afternoon in the paddock, don’t miss the fun with our “Slow Race” sponsored by the California Motorcycle Safety Program (CMSP).  See who’s last to reach the finish line without touching down.  Sign up will be in the tech garage.

There will be more than racing action too.  On Friday and Saturday, the Monterey Cycle Swap will have a slew of swappers eager to bargain on vintage motorcycle parts from American, Japanese and British makers plus some newer bike parts too.  And you can participate in or just feast your eyes on the AHRMA Classic Bike Show to be held on Saturday.  To enter your bike(s) in the show, go here.

Looking to improve your riding skills or learn to ride for the first time? Pacific Motorcycle Training is back once again with their Endless Summer motorcycle training event! Partnering with AHRMA for the third year in a row, moto enthusiasts are going to get the treat of the year. Attendees can take “learn to ride” classes from PMT on any of the 3 days as well as intermediate and advanced courses. There are classes available for every level of rider.  Classes will be held July 11-16.

A full array of ticket packages is available from camping to single or multiple day admission tickets for the AHRMA Classic MotoFest of Monterey. For ticket information, go here.
