AHRMA is Coming to High Plains Raceway, Colorado in April 2022
ELORA, TN, March 29, 2022 – The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) is bringing the past, present and future of motorcycle road racing to Colorado.
Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2022 Bridgestone Tires AHRMA National Historic Cup Roadracing Series will be held at High Plains Raceway in Deer Trail, CO April 22 to 24, 2022.
“High Plains Raceway is a perfect fit for vintage and modern racebikes and an opportunity for race fans in and near Colorado to experience what makes ARHMA so special,” said Brian Larrabure, 2022 Chair of the AHRMA Board of Trustees.
Opened in 2008, the 2.55 mile High Plains course is a combination of high-speed straight sections and challenging, technical corners. Its most distinctive feature is more than 300 feet of cumulative elevation changes per lap.
“It’s been more than 15 years since AHRMA’s road racing program was in Colorado,” Larrabure said. “Since then, Colorado has added a great new racing facility and AHRMA has expanded its road racing program to feature even more cool bikes from pre-World War II all the way up to modern, electric-powered racers.”
AHRMA offers a wide range of classes for Vintage and Modern motorcycles including sidecar races which are always a crowd favorite.
Whether you race or would enjoy a day of watching great racing and seeing some pristine race machines, you don’t want to miss this three-day event. On Friday, April 22 High Plains Raceway will administer a lapping day, which will serve as AHRMA’s practice day.
Also on April 22, AHRMA is offering the Academy of Road Racing (AAR) school. Students who pass the school on Friday will be eligible to race the weekend. Saturday and Sunday racers will take to the track early for practice, followed by some exciting road racing that you don’t want to miss!
AHRMA is the largest historic motorcycle racing organization in the United States. It promotes national events at iconic venues including Daytona International Speedway, Heartland Motorsports Park, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and Barber Motorsports Park. For the best racing at the best venues, AHRMA is the place to be.
