Barber Vintage Festival October 6-8, 2023

Birmingham, Alabama, Barber Vintage Festival, October 6-7-8

Team Obsolete is pleased to announce our program for the fabulous Barber Vintage Festival:

❖              Dave Roper riding the “Dick Mann Special” Matchless G50

❖              Dave will also be riding his ex-Cal Rayborn Aermacchi Harley-Davidson 350 and his Belland Aermacchi Harley-Davidson 350

❖              Walt Fulton III riding an ex-factory Harley-Davidson XR750TT

❖              Our crew Seth Rosko and Cliff Godard will be in attendance.

Special Announcement: The Maurice Candy – Randy Hoffman Story:

Randy is a long-term Manx Norton-Velo KTT rider who is heroically struggling to fully recover from cervical spinal disk surgery gone bad. It is unclear whether he will ever be able to race his two wheelers again. Hence the recent arrival of the unique ex-Maurice Candy-Lex DuPont ex-Colin Seeley “MJC Special” 500 sidecar outfit, courtesy of Chris Candy, and Team Obsolete’s Rob Iannucci. This fabulous machine was raced for many years at the Isle of Man TT, lastly in 1973. It will enable Randy to return to historic racing.  He and the “MJC Special” were made for each other!  Randy fits the “Kneeler” crouch riding position perfectly.  The outfit will be on display at Barber, with Randy present.  We plan to have it race ready for the 2024 season.

Team Obsolete thanks our sponsors Vanson Leathers, Red Line Synthetic Oil, Airtech-Streamlining, and Buchanan Spoke and Rim, Inc.  Sadly our long term AVON sponsorship has come to an end, with the termination of production of their vintage tire line.

This season Team Obsolete has appeared at Varano, Italy, NJMP, Heartland, Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio, Gingerman, Blackhawk Farms, Mosport, Isle of Man Manx GP, Coatesville, and now Barber.

We would welcome any new sponsors.
