AIM Yamaha will be fielding just the one rider in the rearranged Brands Hatch opening round of the British Superbike championship. Although Steve Plater claimed a 13th place in the qualifying that took place at the postponed meeting back in April he will be unable to take his place on the gird because of a date clash with the Albacete round of the World Endurance championship. However, Ian Hutchinson will be in attendance at Brands Hatch where he will contest the British Supersport race on Sunday. He had previously secured a third row start in ninth position but because of the withdrawal of Dennis Hobbs through injury, Ian now finds himself promoted onto the second row in eighth position for the start of Sunday’s 18-lap race. With the starting grid already set there is no need for qualifying but there will be two free practice sessions on Saturday followed by a 10 minute warm up period on Sunday morning prior to racing when the Fuchs/Silkolene British Supersport round is scheduled for 3.30pm.
