Following his heavy fall during qualifying, Airwaves Ducati rider Leon Camier will not be competing in today’s races. A joint decision between Leon and Airwaves Ducati Team Manager Colin Wright followed a consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of the Championship. On the decision Colin Wright commented, “Of course we are very disappointed that Leon will not be competing today, however we must consider the possible implications of Leon racing whilst not 100% fit. We know that when Leon is fully recovered he can and will be competing at the top fighting for more championship points.” Leon said, “I’m incredibly disappointed to not be out there racing today, for myself, the fans and the sponsors. It was a hard call to make and it hasn’t been taken lightly. I now need to focus on getting myself back to full fitness and getting the championship back on track. I’d like to apologise to all my fans and can assure them that I will be back in the thick of it at Knockhill.”
