GBmoto Racing are pleased to announce that Alex Cudlin will be joining the team, to compete in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 championship. After a successful testing schedule at both Cadwell Park and Brands Hatch last week, Alex has agreed to ride for GBmoto Racing, beginning at Brands Hatch GP over the weekend of August 5th-7th. Alex already has a winning history with GBmoto, having previously ridden for them in the UK National Endurance series. He is the current 2010 World Endurance Cup champion and also won the 2011 Qatar International Road Racing Championship. Last year, the Australian also made his first Moto 2 World Championship appearance at Phillip Island. Alex Cudlin, Rider: I’m really happy to be joining the GBMoto Racing team again. I worked with a lot of the crew back in 2007, so I feel like I am returning to familiar ground. I am also looking forward to racing in the UK and the Superstock Championship, which I haven’t done at this level before. I know it’s not going to be easy, and I’ll be up against some tough riders, but I hope to score some good results for myself and the GBmoto Racing team. My main priority is to learn the GP track as quickly as possible and establish a natural feeling on the bike then go from there. I’m excited about the opportunity. Mark Smith-Halvorsen, Team Principal: Having worked previously with Alex and seen his speed, ability and confidence grow immensely in the last 2 years; we are really pleased that he can join the team with a view to successfully finishing the season with us. He adapted quickly to the Honda this week and has found an early setting for the Ohlins suspension and Metzeler tyre combination which is new to him. Straight into the BSB cauldron that is Brands Hatch in August we go!
