Endurance ace, Alex Cudlin, has just joined Belgium based team DG Sport for the 2012 World Endurance Championship. Riding a Yamaha R1 on Pirelli tyres, 2012 will see Alex travel the globe in a quest to win his 2nd Superstock World cup to go along with his 2010 World Title trophy already sitting in his cupboard at home. “I’m very happy to be racing for the World Cup again,” said Alex. “2010 was a good year for me, winning my first World title. I was hoping I could back that up in 2011 but it wasn’t to be. 2 years down the track, I have found a new home in the way of DG Sport. “They are a professional outfit with a passion as big as mine to achieve the number 1 plate, so I’m looking forward to getting started,” said a positive Cudlin Team DG sport are relatively new to the World Endurance championship, having only competed in the 2011 championships once before with success. In 2011 DG Sport finished in a credible 5th position in the Superstock World Cup and were the winners of the final 8 hour race in Qatar, putting them in good stead for 2012. Alex will be joined by Belgium rider Didier Van Keymuelan, Italian Gianluca Viziello, and Dutch rider, Raymond Shoutan, to create an all out assault on the 2012 crown. The first round of the 2012 World Endurance Championship starts in 2 weeks time in France at the most gruelling race of all, the Bol Dor 24 hour. “I’m looking forward to the 24 hour. My body feels in top shape at the moment and mentally I’m confident leading up to the race. Bol d’Or is ranked as the toughest motorcycle race in the World on riders, both physically and mentally, and is also tough on the machine. I have entered this race 7 times in my career and have only finished twice. Every other time we have abandoned due to mechanical failure of the bike. I’m hoping that will change this time around and we come home with the win. The team and I will be working hard to secure the win that’s for sure,” said Cudlin.
