After the great performance registered by Sylvain Guintoli on the shortest European MotoGP circuit, we go across the Atlantic Ocean to race in the shortest circuit in the 2008 calendar, at Laguna Seca in California. Last year on this track the French rider didn’t obtain a good performance, but it has been now from four races that he has sensibly improved his riding style on the Ducati GP8 Sat and he will try to maintain the same level on American ground. Toni Elias wasn’t satisfied of the last races. The Catalan rider wants to do much better on the American circuit, which he really likes, even if he still hasn’t conquered great results here. Alice Team Technical Director, Fabiano Sterlacchini, is convinced that after the last updates received by the home manufacture, the French-Hispanic duo can fight with everybody else, as it happened in the last Grand Prix for Sylvain: It’s true, now our bike is much more competitive and we cannot be satisfied by any results, we always have to fight with the fastest riders. It seems like Sylvain has found a good riding style to control the power of our bike, while Toni has still to improve to give us some satisfactions. All of us have seen him do much better in the past years and we believe he can repeat himself also with us soon.” Sylvain Guintoli has obtained the best result for the Alice Team so far, bringing back optimism and morale for the rest of the season inside the garage: “I am very happy on how the race went. I wanted to do more, but I have to say that for how the season was going we can consider ourselves satisfied. I think that all of us, from the technicians to the management staff, from the sponsors to the partners, deserve to fight like in the last weekend at every race. I really hope to be able to give many more satisfaction to all of them. Laguna Seca is a fantastic track. I had the luck to race there for the first time last year and I believe I can improve my performances in this occasion.” His teammate, Toni Elias didn’t have much fun in the last Grand Prix of Germany and will use all of his energies to get a good result in America: “This is absolutely true, at Sachsenring, also because of the rain, I had a really bad day. Maybe the best thing to do is completely forgot about the race and start all over again in this weekend. Laguna Seca is a really fun track and I am sure that we will make it to have a good race: I will, as always, give my best.”
