Rome (Italy), Monday 20th December 2010: The Althea Racing Team is in the processing of defining its plans for the 2011 Italian championship, coming to an agreement earlier this week with Italian rider Luca Conforti, who will ride the Ducati 1198 in the Superbike category. 35-year old Luca, from Brescia, has been one of the protagonists in the Italian CIV championship in recent years and is ready, under the guidance of Genesio Bevilacqua, to undertake this new challenge as part of the Althea Racing squad. “I’m really excited”, said Luca Conforti earlier this morning. “I am really happy to be able to continue to race with Ducati because I’ve always got on well with the Borgo Panigale bikes. Genesio’s team is a point of reference and this year’s results, in both the national and world Superbike championships, are a good demonstration of this. Team Althea Racing has attained a certain level and is extremely professional, and I must admit that I can’t wait to get on track with them!” “I’m very pleased to be able to announce this collaboration with Luca for the 2001 Italian championship”, commented Genesio Bevilacqua, Althea Racing’s General Manager. “We are certain that we’ve made the right decision so as to be able to achieve some significant results. Conforti has already demonstrated his strength as a rider and with his maturity, combined with Althea’s experience and our collaboration with Michelin, we have the basis for a more than satisfactory season. The entire team welcomes him on board.”
