PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that effective October 1, 2006, participant legal liability insurance for AMA-sanctioned events will be offered through Wisenberg Motorsports, a division of Acordia of Texas, and provided by ACE American Insurance Company. Wisenberg Motorsports, the broker for the new AMA program, is the country’s largest motorsports insurance agency, working with NHRA, IHRA, SCCA and other motorsports organizations. ACE American Insurance Company, the insurance carrier, is rated A+ by AM Best Company. “As the world’s largest motorsports-sanctioning body, the AMA knows the importance of cost-effective insurance coverage,” said Patricia DiPietro, AMA Chief Executive Officer. “The AMA made the decision to replace Naughton Insurance, with which we’ve had a great business relationship, only after a long and thorough search. In today’s tough motorsports-insurance market, we believe that the Wisenberg program is an excellent choice for our promoting organizations, combining cost-effective coverage, stability in the marketplace, a solid carrier, and extensive motorsports experience.” The AMA sanctions more than 4,000 events annually, through more than 1,200 AMA-chartered organizations. AMA-chartered organizations should direct their questions about the AMA’s new insurance program to Mary Hurley at (614) 856-1900 ext. 1221 or [email protected].
