American Motorcyclist Association Encourages All to Drive Safely This Holiday Season

Awareness, safe driving practices encouraged

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association would like to remind motorists and motorcyclists to exercise caution and drive/ride safely this holiday season.

Winter weather and busier roadways require a heightened focus while traveling, and the AMA encourages motorists to look out for motorcyclists — and other drivers — during this busy time.

“Riding will still be possible in many parts of the country, so it is important for both motorists and motorcyclists to exercise caution,” AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman said. “Don’t let the excitement of the holiday season impact your good judgement and ability to safely operate a vehicle.”

Impaired and distracted driving is on the rise this time of year, too, placing all — especially motorcyclists — at risk.

“Let’s all ensure we keep our nation’s roadways safe as we celebrate Christmas and New Year’s,” Dingman added. “Enjoy the time with loved ones, and enjoy the holiday season as it gives way to the start of the new year.”
