AMA Members To Get Early Demo Ride Access At AMA National Convention/AIMExpo

AMA members receive early demo ride access at AMA National Convention

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — American Motorcyclist Association members attending the AMA National Convention being held in conjunction with the American International Motorcycle Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., will get a holeshot on the competition for motorcycle demo rides during the Oct. 18-19 consumer portion of the event.

“As anyone who has attended a large gathering of motorcyclists knows, the demo ride area can be one of the most popular, and we’re appreciative to AIMExpo and the participating manufacturers for giving AMA members a welcomed benefit at this event,” said AMA Vice President of Operations Jeff Massey.

AMA members will enjoy exclusive access to demo rides at participating manufacturers’ demo trucks from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. (Demo rides will open to non-AMA members starting at 9 a.m.) Street demo providers offering early AMA member access include Yamaha, Suzuki, Kymco and EBR. Off-road demo providers offering early AMA member access include Yamaha, Suzuki, Kymco and Massimo.

To have access to the early time slot, AMA members must have their valid AMA membership card with them and present it to the demo fleet staff.

In addition to early demo ride access, the AMA National Convention includes a kick-off party at Orlando EagleRider 6-10 p.m. on Oct. 16, exclusive seminars on a variety of motorcycling topics at the convention center 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 17, guided road and adventure rides, the annual AMA member meeting and more.

Held in partnership with the American International Motorcycle Expo at the Orange County Convention Center, the 2014 AMA National Convention also provides a first look at the latest in motorcycles, gear, gadgets and gizmos at AIMExpo. AIMExpo is a diverse powersports event that is open to trade and media Oct. 16-17 and open to the general public Oct. 18-19. AMA National Convention attendees who are not members of the industry or media are welcome to attend AIMExpo Oct. 18-19.

The four-day extravaganza also features the American Honda AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, Oct. 17. The induction ceremony will officially welcome the Hall of Fame Class of 2014, which includes race tuner and innovator Byron Hines; motocross pioneer Pierre Karsmakers; Tom White, acclaimed motorcycle collector, former nationally ranked racer and founder of White Brothers Cycle Specialties; George Barber, founder of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum and the Barber Motorsports Park; national off-road racing champion Scott Summers; AMA motocross champion and current Supercross/Motocross Team Manager Mike LaRocco; and legendary tuner, engine builder and team owner Rob Muzzy.
