Tropicana Casino and Resort to Host American Superbike, Daytona SportBike and SuperSport Gala DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Following a save-the-date notice earlier this month that the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing Awards Banquet would be held in Atlantic City, N.J., AMA Pro Road Racing Officials announced today that the Tropicana Casino and Resort will be the host venue for the season-ending awards celebration on Labor Day Monday evening, Sept. 7. The black-tie optional banquet in the famous seaside resort city will honor this year’s champions and top performers in AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL and AMA Pro SuperSport presented by Shoei. The SuperSport West Championship concludes next weekend in the Tornado Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka while the year-end race event for SuperSport East and the premier classes will be held at nearby New Jersey Motorsports Park on Labor Day weekend, which is well under 50 miles from Atlantic City. “We were committed to providing a first-class season-ending awards celebration for the outstanding competitors in our road racing classes this year while also taking into account the current state of the global economy,” said AMA Pro Racing President Roger Edmondson. “The Tropicana gives us a first-class host hotel and pairing the banquet up with our final race event at New Jersey Motorsports Park makes economic sense for our competitors. We sincerely hope to see everyone in the AMA Pro Road Racing community at the Tropicana in Atlantic City on Labor Day.” Located just steps from Atlantic City’s famous Boardwalk, the Tropicana will host an AMA Pro Road Racing banquet for the first time in one of its spacious grand ballrooms while also offering guests a variety of casino, entertainment, dining and shopping options. Special Tropicana room rates for AMA Pro Road Racing guests are available on both Sunday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 7. Awards Banquet tickets are $125 per person and include a full cocktail reception, the awards dinner and hosted bar throughout the evening. The night begins with the reception at 6:30 p.m. and is planned to conclude early in the 10 p.m. hour in order to allow guests ample time to enjoy Atlantic City’s nightlife and attractions. Tropicana Room Reservations: Please call 1-800-THE-TROP, follow the prompts for Room Reservations and then select Convention Groups. The AMA Pro Road Racing Awards Banquet code is HAPR. A limited number of discounted rooms are being held in the AMA Pro Road Racing block. Guests are advised to make their reservations early. Awards Banquet Tickets: An order form is available at http://www.amaproracing.com/assets/2009-AMAPRR-BanquetOrderForm.pdf. Please print and FAX the completed document to (386) 274-2335. Information on year-end plans for AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT, which concludes its season October 16 – 18 at Daytona International Speedway, will be announced at a later date.
