AMA Pro Racing Mandating Gearing For Vance & Hines XR1200 Class At Daytona

AMA Pro Road Racing Competitor Bulletin #2011-02 To: All AMA Pro Road Racing Competitors Date: February 3, 2011 Effective Date: Immediately Subject: XR 1200 Primary Drive, Daytona Based on testing conducted with our series partner Vance and Hines at Daytona International Speedway, AMA Pro Racing is mandating the following drive gear and primary drive chain: Primary Chain 96Link Part Number 40147-04 Rotor Sprocket Assembly Part Number 30029-08 This will change the primary ratio from 1.68 to 1.5. When run in conjunction with a 30 tooth front pulley and a 66 tooth rear pulley, it will provide adequate gearing to run in a multiple bike draft without hitting the rev limiter. The new packing improves horsepower and enhances the sound quality at the track (approximately 2dB higher).
