AMA Pro Road Race Competitor Bulletin #2011-07 To: All AMA Pro Road Race Competitors Date: April 19, 2011 Effective Date: Immediately Subject: Radio Communications 2011 AMA Pro Racing Rule Book page 12: 2.10 Radio Communications a. AMA Pro Racing Race Control communicates schedule, track, rider and motorcycle status information on frequency 461.475 (203.5) throughout each race event. All teams must have at least one crew member monitor this “listen only” communications channel during all practice, qualifying, and races. During the 2011 Daytona 200 it became clear that many teams and riders are not in compliance with the above rule. This mutually beneficial regulation is in place to assist AMA Pro Racing in communicating critical safety and operational information to event participants. Starting at the next event at Infineon on May 13-15, 2011, all competitors will be required to bring a radio or scanner set to the appropriate channel to technical inspection. Teams and riders that cannot produce such a device may be denied a tech sticker until such time that they can show compliance with the above rule. Moving forward through the season, AMA Pro may do random spot checks for compliance. Violators of rule 2.10 may incur fines and/or penalties.
