Three Official AMA Pro Tests Scheduled; Additional Testing Not Permitted At Sanctioned Tracks DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 13, 2009) – Three officially sanctioned AMA Pro Road Racing test days will be held in 2009 for AMA Pro American Superbike and AMA Pro Daytona SportBike competitors as a key part of new testing policies and regulations that were announced today from AMA Pro headquarters. Each of the three official test days will be held at respective tracks in the East, West and Midwest and represent the only opportunities competitors will have to test at AMA Pro sanctioned tracks this year. As of February 15, 2009, private testing will no longer be permitted at tracks that are hosting an AMA Pro Road Racing event this year. Thursday at-event promoter test days have also been eliminated. The three officially sanctioned tests are tentatively scheduled, pending contract approvals, for Infineon Raceway, April 20 – 21, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 10 – 11 and New Jersey Motorsports Park, July 21 – 22. Each test will be operated and sanctioned by AMA Pro and will offer competitors technical inspection, timing and scoring and air fence. Entrants will be responsible for track rental costs, tires and fuel. The new testing regulations will be strictly enforced and any violators will be fined $10,000 and placed on a one-year probation commencing when the fine is paid. AMA Pro will be the sole authority regarding determination of a testing policy violation. The new AMA Pro testing restrictions do not apply to track test days open to the general public and organized race events, such as those conducted by AFM, CCS and WERA, are not considered a violation of this policy. AMA Pro Racing is the premier professional motorcycle racing organization in North America, operating a full schedule of events and championships for a variety of motorcycle disciplines. From its Daytona Beach headquarters, the organization operates and manages AMA Pro Road Racing, which includes AMA Pro American Superbike, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike, AMA Pro SuperSport, AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT and the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup in addition to the AMA Pro Flat Track Championship.
