AMA Pro Superbike: Fan Walk, Rider Autograph Session Will Be Combined On Pit Lane At Barber

Plenty of Fan Activities During the Season Finale AMA Pro Superbike Championship at Barber Motorsports Park The Barber Motorsports Park will host the season ending championship round of the AMA Pro Road Racing Series on September 24 26. With a tight points battle in several classes, championships will be decided on the rolling 2.38 mile, 17 turn circuit located in Birmingham, Alabama. The action packed weekend will include a Saturday / Sunday double-header in American Superbike, Daytona Sportbike and Supersport as well as the final round of the Vance & Hines XR1200 class on Sunday. “This will be a huge weekend for the fans,” said Jeff Ewing, Vice President of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive promoter and management firm for the Barber Motorsports Park. “Although we’ve hosted several successful AMA Pro Racing events, we’ve always been the first race after Daytona in the Spring. To host the season finale where champions will be crowned is a thrill not only for us but more importantly for our loyal AMA fanbase as well.” The AMA Superbike Championship weekend will kick off with an AMA Rider Fan Party at Billy’s Sports Grill on Thursday night, September 23. Starting at 6:00 p.m., fans will enjoy photo and autograph opportunities with AMA Pro riders, as well as door prizes, ticket giveaways and more. Billy’s is conveniently located just ten minutes from Barber Motorsports Park at exit 23 (Liberty Parkway) on I-459. On-track action gets underway on Friday at Noon with practice and qualifying sessions. Saturday morning will see the conclusion of qualifying before the Fan Walk on Pit Lane and Opening Ceremonies during lunch, then an afternoon of racing. Sunday will begin with morning warm-ups and a Fan Walk on Pit Lane before Opening Ceremonies and the final round of AMA Pro Racing for 2010. During the weekend, spectators will have plenty of off-track activities to choose from, including: · Red Bull TNT Freestyle Show (Sunday only) · Fan Walk on Pit Lane & AMA Pro Racing autograph session · The popular “Ducati Corner” display · The Great American Wall of Death Thrill Show · National Guard display · Motorcycle Parade Laps Tickets, paddock passes, camping and more for the AMA Pro Superbike Championship Weekend can be purchased at www.barbermotorsports.com or by calling 800-240-2300.
