Racer Erick Yahir Sanchez suffered fatal injuries when he crashed during a race in Mexico Sunday. He was 18 years old.
Sanchez had qualified on pole position for the Super Cupa Telcel Pachuco race at Autodromo Pachuco in Hildalgo, Mexico. Roadracing World has not been able to verify circumstances of the crash.
Sanchez had been racing a Meen Motorsports Yamaha YZF-R6 in AMA Pro Racing Supersport events and said in his rider profile on roadracingworld.com that he lived in Memphis, Tennessee.

Morgan Hill, CA – Meen Motorsports mourns the loss of their AMA Supersport rider Erick Yahir Sanchez, who suffered a fatal motorcycle racing accident in Hidalgo, Mexico on the afternoon of July 27, 2014.
In conjunction with his commitments riding with Meen Motorsports for the AMA Pro Supersport championship, Sanchez continued his own privateer efforts in his home country of Mexico, racing his personal equipment at local and national race circuits. Sanchez had qualified on pole position on Saturday for the fourth installment of the MexBike Championship at the autodromo Moises Solana in Pachuca with the main race taking place on Sunday.

I loved how he would always show up saying, ‘BUDDY TODAY I GO FULL GAS!’ His contagious laugh was always present under our team canopy and will truly be missed. It was a privilege to be part of this talented young man’s life and to have shared many great moments with him and his family at the track. Morgan Hill, CA (28 de Julio, 2014) – Meen Motorsports llora la pérdida de su AMA Supersport rider Erick Yahir Sánchez, quien sufrió un fatal accidente moto racing en el estado de Hidalgo, México, en la tarde del 27 de Julio, 2014.
Junto con sus compromisos a montar con Meen Motorsports en el Campeonato AMA Pro Supersport, Sánchez continuó su propio esfuerzo corsario en su país de origen de México, corriendo su equipo personal en circuitos de carreras locales y nacionales. Sánchez había calificado en primera posición el Sábado para la cuarta entrega de la MexBike del campeonato en el autódromo Moisés Solana en Pachuca con la carrera principal que se realizará el Domingo.
