The second and final AMA Superbike qualifying session, scheduled to take place Saturday morning at Auto Club Speedway, in Fontana, California, has been canceled due to delays caused by high winds displacing trackside barriers. This weekend’s Superbike races will be gridded according to Friday’s provisional qualifying session, which was topped by Rockstar Makita Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies. The schedule for the remainder of Saturday has also been revised. After the lunch break, which was moved up to provide time to address the displaced barriers, AMA Superbike will have a short, 20-minute practice session, followed by a 20-minute warm-up session for Formula Xtreme. Those warm-ups will be followed by shortened (from 30 to 20 minutes) qualifying sessions for Superstock and Supersport, which will be divided into slower and faster groups, as usual. Following the Superstock and Supersport qualifying sessions, the 28-lap Superbike and 17-lap Formula Xtreme races will be run.
