Exhibition competition events add to fun, excitement at 2018 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Royal Enfield
Biltwell sponsors Pit bike racing, Holeshot Challenge, off-road poker run
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Exhibition competition events will offer a fun, low-pressure environment for racers and spectators to enjoy throughout each day at 2018 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Royal Enfield, at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, July 6-8.
The Biltwell Pit Bike Races give participants a chance to compete on the motorcycles they use to get around the event facility.
On July 6 and July 7, registration for the pit bike races is from 3-5 p.m. Practice begins at 5:30 p.m., with the racing commencing at 6 p.m.
Friday’s races are in the Mid-Ohio infield, with registration at the Mid-Ohio Deck. Saturday’s races are in the Off-Road Racing Area (hare scramble starting area), with registration at the off-road administration trailer.

Swap Shop & Race Challenge
Also returning for 2018 is the Swap Shop & Race Challenge.
Contestants buy a bike at the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days Swap Meet, brought to you by Federal Motorcycle Shipping, bring it to the Skidmark Garage display in the Old Bike Barn Crossroads to make repairs, then enter it in vintage competition events throughout the weekend.
A sign-up sheet for the Swap Shop & Race Challenge will be located at the AMA membership tent in the Old Bike Barn Crossroads. Prizes will be awarded to the contestant who performs the best in the races.
Biltwell Holeshot Challenge
At 7:30 p.m. July 8, the Biltwell Holeshot Challenge gets under way at the motocross starting gate.
The event is free to enter. It features a one-class format for motorcycles of all types. Registration is 5-7 p.m. at the Off-Road Administration Trailer.
Biltwell AMA Off-Road Poker Run
Riders will get two chances to participate in the Biltwell AMA Off-Road Poker Run in the Mid-Ohio infield 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 7 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 8.
For a $5 donation to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, riders can navigate an easy off-road loop five times, drawing a playing card each lap. At the end of each day’s competition, riders holding the top three hands will be awarded prizes.
Basic protective gear and waiver completion are required for participants in all exhibition racing events.
