Bike show, riding exhibitions to entertain crowd at 2019 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Honda
Wall of Death, Xtreme Trials Riders to put on daredevil riding shows during event
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Two daredevil riding exhibitions and a stellar vintage bike show will entertain the crowds at 2019 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Honda, July 5-7 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Show, presented by Old Bike Barn, takes place in the Old Bike Barn Crossroads on the Mid-Ohio infield and showcases a wide range of vintage and modern competition and custom motorcycles. The entry fee for the show is a $10 non-refundable donation to the nonprofit AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

The Wall of Death show features a motor drome — a silo-shaped wooden cylinder 30 feet across — and motorcycle riders performing trick, fancy and acrobatic riding on vintage motorcycles along its vertical wall. Spectators stand at the top of the 14-foot wall and look down as the riders speed around the cylinder. A crowd favorite, shows take place every hour of AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.
The Xtreme Trials exhibition features riders piloting bicycles and motorcycles over challenging obstacles to the delight and amazement of spectators. The riders are some of the top performers in the NATC/AMA MotoTrials National Championship Series.
Every year since 1995, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days has welcomed riders and racers of all brands to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. All activity at the event financially supports the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, the 501(c)(3) that raises money for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
There will be vintage competition in road racing, motocross, hare scrambles and trials at Mid-Ohio and flat track racing at the nearby Ashland County Fairgrounds. Riders in these disciplines are racing for national championships or national championship series points. In addition, there will be exhibition pit bike races and dirt drags.
The event includes vendors from all areas of motorcycling, selling gear and services for motorcycles old and new. Past vendors have included vintage and modern gear sellers, painters and pinstripers, parts and tools dealers, community garages and much more.
There will be a drawing for a vintage raffle bike that raises additional funds for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. In 2019, the winning ticket will be drawn for a 1951 Harley-Davidson Panhead.
Motorcycling experts will speak on numerous topics, including motorcycle restoration and travel. Speakers this year include three AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers — true legends of the sport. And AMA staff members will conduct a panel discussion on important legislation affecting riders.
Tickets are available for purchase online at www.amavintagemotorcycledays.com or at the gate during the event. A weekend pass is $60, a single-day admission for Friday or Saturday is $40 and a single-day admission for Sunday is $35. Kids 12 and younger get in free.
