American Motorcyclist Association wishes American SportBike Racing Association good fortune at this weekend’s Daytona 200
PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association, the 91-year-old membership organization and the country’s premier amateur motorcycle racing sanctioning body, expresses its best wishes to the American SportBike Racing Association, the operational and sanctioning body for the 2015 Daytona 200 on March 14.
“Many AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers forged their legacies on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway, and past Daytona 200s have always delivered exciting spectacles of racing,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “The team at ASRA is top notch and a valued partner of the AMA in amateur racing activities. We’re looking forward to enjoying a fun and safe race for everybody.”
The AMA has partnered with MotoAmerica and FIM North America to sanction the MotoAmerica series as both a national and continental championship. MotoAmerica, the home of the AMA Superbike Series, does not include the Daytona 200, which is a standalone professional race being sanctioned by ASRA for the first time in 2015.
