RED BULL INDIANAPOLIS GP IS 14TH OF 18 RACES ON 2008 MotoGP SCHEDULE INDIANAPOLIS The inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be the 14th of 18 races on the 2008 provisional MotoGP schedule, released by the FIM. With just four races on the 2008 schedule after the Red Bull Indianapolis GP, the inaugural MotoGP event on the 2.601-mile motorcycle road course at IMS should play a crucial role in the season championship. The San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano circuit in Italy precedes the Red Bull Indianapolis GP, on Aug. 31, and the Australian Grand Prix on Sept. 28 at the Phillip Island circuit follows the race at Indy. The 2008 season starts March 9 at Qatar and ends Nov. 2 at Valencia, in Spain. Spain, Italy and the United States are nations with two or more events on the schedule. Spain plays host to the Spanish Grand Prix on March 30, the Catalunya Grand Prix on June 8 and the Valencia Grand Prix on Nov. 2. The Italian Grand Prix is on June 1, with the San Marino Grand Prix on Aug. 31. The United States Grand Prix is July 20 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif.
