Next Tuesday, August 12, the American contingent departs for England for the 17th annual “Beezumph Rally” at Cadwell Park. The annual gathering of BSA/Triumph Triples owners and fans will take place on the following Friday and Saturday (8/15-16) and this year will honor the first-ever Trans-Atlantic Match Races that were held over the Easter Weekend in 1971 at Brands Hatch, Mallory Park and Oulton Park. Attending from the American side will be David Aldana, Don Castro, Don Emde, Gene Romero and Dick Mann. Gary Nixon and Jim Rice were not able to attend due to schedule conflicts. Riders from the British team invited to attend include John Cooper, Tony Jeffries, Paul Smart and Percy Tait. Other invitees include Rob North, maker of the famous frames that bear his name and were used by every motorcycle in that inaugural series, as well as Craig Vetter, designer of the 3-cylinder Triumph Hurricane.
