Strong finish for Damian Jigalov’s 2017 CIV season

RMU Moto VR46 Riders Academy rider Damian Jigalov rounded off his 2017 CIV PreMoto3 season strongly – his first year racing in Europe – with a final Championship points standing of eighth. The 2017 season closed with last weekend’s Italian CIV final Rounds 11-12, which took place at the Autodromo Vallelunga near Rome.

Vallelunga was a new track for Damian to learn, and the young American wasted no time in adapting to the circuit, quickly finding his pace and eventually qualifying in eighth position.

In Saturday’s Race 1 Damian crossed the line in 6th. Sunday’s Race 2 was another 6th place finish, in which he also set a personal best lap time of 1:50.7.

Next stop for Damian Jigalov will be Almeria, Spain for the invitational try-outs for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
