American racer in Ireland. Master craftsman, Motorcycle Xcitement instructor and motorcycle road racer Dylan Scott, 38, of Silver Spring, Maryland, has a dream to race the Isle of Man someday. That dream is coming to reality. Dylan and Cathleen fly to Ireland for him to compete in 3 major Irish road races through the streets of Ireland. Dylan will race in the Cookstown 100 on April 29 and 30, the Tandragee 100 on May 6 and 7, and try to qualify for the North West 200 week May 14-21, aboard a Mark Hamilton Yamaha R6 with support from Darren Gilpin of Ireland. These “real road races” are courses through town and country, lined with curbs, trees, buildings and spectators. As the Irish put it, “This is pure roadracing discipline.” The North West 200 draws more than 100,000 passionate motorcycle racing fans and some great racing talent! These races are the stepping stones to qualify to race the Isle of Man. With God’s grace and everyone’s help, that should happen in 2012. “I’ll be going for a country ride with my heart as the limit…making markers and making memories. The goal is to quest for the perfect rhythm.” says Dylan Scott. “I would like to thank ‘the powers that be’ for allowing this dream to unfold, Al Wilcox for his steadfast encouragement, Joan and Roger Lyle for all their love and support with great enthusiasm from the Motorcycle Xcitement family, Brian Gardiner for his inspiration, Darren and Ian Gilpin for making this dream a reality along with Mark Hamilton, Tim Langaas, Troy Summers, Tom Cutter and Dwight Wood.” “Special thanks also goes to Devin Battley of Battley Cycles, Kieron Mooney of Blarney Quick Racing and Saints Music for the suit in coordination with RAM Cycles, Lizzy Leather for all her detailed work for the advertisement logos on my leather racing suit.” Stay tuned as Dylan Scott chases his dreams, racing these legendary road courses in Ireland with a beautiful story to follow.
