Ducati Posts $180,000-plus in American Flat Track Contingency; Total AFT Contingency for 2018 Now Exceeds $2 Million

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 2, 2018) – With an American Flat Track contingency offering from Ducati of more than $180,000 for the 2018 season, what was already the largest contingency pool in the history of the sport has now surpassed the $2 million mark.

“The American Flat Track series continues to gain both strength and pace,” says Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “Support in 2018 for our paddock from Ducati, a world-class racing organization, is a testament to how important AFT is becoming to the motorcycle industry as a whole.”

Ducati’s contingency offering for the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines division will total $180,100 for the 2018 season, including a $10,000 for a championship win. Payout breakdowns on a per-event bases are as follows:

1st: $5000

2nd: $2000

3rd: $1200

4th: $750

5th: $500

To be eligible for Ducati contingency monies, teams must utilize the 821cc twin-cylinder engine that served as the powerplant for Ducati’s 2015-2018 Monster and 2013-2015 Hypermotard models.

To help riders take home as many contingency dollars as possible, American Flat Track has created online Contingency Guidelines for the two classes that make up the series: AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines and AFT Singles.

American Flat Track will kick off its highly-anticipated 2018 season with the Bigger, Better, and Faster Harley-Davidson TT presented by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys at DAYTONA under the lights inside the fabled trioval at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
