Roger Hayden to Join Jake Johnson for a Two-Rider Estenson Racing Twins Effort at the Laconia Short Track

Kolby Carlile to Focus on Full Fitness for Lima and AFT Production Twins Championship

PHOENIX (June 12, 2018) – Estenson Racing’s Jake Johnson and fill-in rider Roger Hayden look forward to the challenge of the first running of the Laconia Short Track on Saturday, June 15, during Laconia Bike Week. The third member of the Twins team, Kolby Carlile, will sit out the Loudon, New Hampshire, round and work on returning his knee to full fitness for the next round of the AFT Production Twins Championship in Lima, Ohio.

From one extreme to the other, American Flat Track’s premier-class riders – AFT Twins – go from a fast mile to a quarter-mile short track. The all-new venue at the iconic New Hampshire Motor Speedway is uncharted territory for the series and the smallest track to date for the AFT Twins class.

Johnson already has seven short track wins to his resume, the second-most of any rider currently racing in the Championship, and he would love nothing more than to score his second win with the team. Once again filling in for JD Beach, Hayden looks forward to returning with the Estenson Racing team for the second race weekend in a row to build on his progress made at the Red Mile.

Jake Johnson — AFT Twins #5:

“It should be an exciting weekend. A brand-new race track, and probably the smallest track the Twins have ever seen in American Flat Track. All of the short tracks lately have basically been small Half-Miles, so it will be fun to race a true short track again.”

Roger Hayden — AFT Twins #95:

“I’m excited about another opportunity to race with the Estenson Racing team this weekend. All of the guys welcomed me with open arms at Lexington, so I’m looking forward to getting to the track and hopefully we can use what we learned at the last race and try to improve at Laconia. Just can’t wait to get going.”

Kolby Carlile – AFT Twins #136:

“It was a tough decision for me to sit out the new Laconia short track, because I’m a racer and I want to be out there racing. But after talking with everyone on my team and in my corner, it’s the right decision. With all the rain-outs, I still have a real shot at the Championship, so we decided I should focus on Production Twins, which means taking this weekend off and focusing on the full recovery of my knee. I have a few weeks until Lima, and we are working diligently to get my body 100% for that. We will be back for Lima and ready to start winning in the Production Twins class. I’ll be watching and wishing my team the best at this new venue.”

The Laconia Short Track will be streamed live, Saturday, June 15, on FansChoice.TV starting with practice at 12:30 p.m. ET. Race action begins with the Heats at 3:05 pm ET, followed by Opening Ceremonies at 4:00 p.m. ET, and the Main Events at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Catch the race on NBCSN, June 23 at 1:30 p.m. ET. For tickets and additional information about the event: http://www.americanflattrack.com/events/ .
