American Flat Track’s 2018 Finale – the Meadowlands Mile presented by Ducati – Comes This Weekend to the NYC Metro

Happening Oct. 6 at New Jersey’s famed MetLife Sports Complex

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2018) – American Flat Track caps off its 2018 season with its grand finale – the Meadowlands Mile presented by Ducati – this weekend, October 6, in the New York City metro at the famed MetLife Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ.

The Meadowlands Racetrack isn’t just a totally new venue for American Flat Track; it’s also a Mile, the two elements packing an always-elevated level of intrigue and excitement. Past experience and machine setup notes won’t help here; everyone’s starting from scratch. What sort of racing surface will emerge over the evening? What gearing and suspension settings will work best at triple-digit speeds? Which riders will adapt best?

The questions are heavy: How will reigning and 2018 AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines champion Jared Mees cap off his season after a mechanical DNF derailed him at the Minnesota Mile? Can Briar Bauman, who dominated Minnesota until he tragically ran out of fuel with two laps remaining, finally get his first Mile victory? Can ‘Mile Master’ Bryan Smith record back-to-back wins after his stunning Minnesota Mile win? And how will 3-time AFT Twins champion Kenny Coolbeth Jr. fare in his very last professional race?

In AFT Singles, will Dan Bromley notch his fifth win of the season and forge an exclamation point behind his 2018 title? Or will 2017 champion Kolby Carlile snatch his second win in a row – and his fourth 2018 Mile win, matching Bromley for season wins – as he tries to draft Shayna Texter for third overall in the 2018 championship?

It’ll all be on display this Saturday afternoon and evening.

Presenting partner Ducati will get things rolling for the AFT Finale Weekend with a Thursday-night Kick-Off Party at flagship dealer Ducati New York (155 6th Ave. NY, NY) from 5 to 8 pm ET. Fans can mingle with AFT stars, check out the Lloyd Bros. Ducati AFT Twins race bikes up close and personal, experience a rider Q&A session at 7:30, enjoy light snacks and liquid refreshment, win AFT and Ducati swag (including race tickets) and check out the unique vibe of New York City’s only Ducati dealership. It’s the perfect way to start off AFT’s grand finale weekend.

The fun continues at Meadowlands Racetrack (50 NJ-120, East Rutherford, NJ) on Saturday. Gates open at 2:30 pm ET with practice – and our FansChoice.tv live stream coverage – starting at 3:30 pm ET. Parking is free for everyone, but get there early and enjoy a collection of moto- and family-friendly attractions, including:

•Live music by The Nerds: It’s the Jersey Shore’s most-endearing bar band, with Spaz (bass), Stretch (guitars), Mongo (keyboards) and Biff (drums) blasting out both classics and esoteric hits from the past. These guys will get you off your feet.

•Plenty of food and drink options, including yummy regional food truck offerings.

•Fireworks display – just the thing to cap off an amazing evening.

•Free Parking for everyone!
