Noyes Takes Two Podium Finishes in Jerez 1000cc Extreme Final American Kenny Noyes (Speed Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000) ended the 2013 season with two third places in Jerez before 18,000 Spanish fans. The Spanish CEV 1000cc Extreme title went to Twelve Ducati’s Xavier Fores, second in both races, with Carmelo Morales (Calvo Kawasaki) taking the runner-up spot and Ivan Silva (Targobank BMW) finishing third overall in championship points. Silva won the second race after being dropped to fourth in race one by Race Direction for an incident at Lorenzo Corner with Morales, the winner of race 1. Noyes, who began the season in Moto2 but withdrew for arm surgery after Round 3, returned with a vengeance after five months of inactivity. He battled the leaders over the opening laps in both races and was the early race leader in race two. Kenny, after the podium ceremonies, said, “It was fun to be scrapping with the guys who have been doing the winning this year. We were 9 seconds back of the winner in Valencia last week and today we cut that back to 4.9, so we made some good progress. I’m really grateful to Suzuki Speed Racing for fielding a bike for me for these final three races and to Dunlop for their strong support. I´m glad to be back on a Superbike again and already looking forward 2014.”
