Noyes Third on Grid at Albacete Spanish-based American Kenny Noyes kept his streak of front row starts alive by qualifying his Palmeto Kawasaki ZX 10-R third on the 1000cc Formula Extreme grid for the fourth round of the Spanish Nationals at Albacete. Heavy traffic was a problem in both sessions. Noyes was third behind Ivan Silva (Kawasaki) and reigning Spanish Extreme Champion Carmelo Morales in the morning session, but was quickest in the afternoon session ahead of Morales and Silva, but not by enough to improve his overall grid position. After having tested for two days the week before, Kenny was satisfied with race pace, but was unable to make the most of the two qualifying tires he used in the final session due to congestion as 40 bikes, including four Moto2 600s were spread out over the twisty 2.2 mile circuit. The 19 lap race will be broadcast Sunday on TVE, Spain’s most watched channel. Kenny Noyes 3rd 1’30.197 “I am happy with the work we did getting ready for this one, but not with the final result because I had traffic problems with one qualifying tire and with the final one I was on a pace to take the pole but made a mistake and lost a half second in the final sector. “Even though the pole got away from us, we have been on the front row at every race this season and I have to be satisfied with that. The only problem is that we are getting so much front end grip from the Michelin qualifier that we are getting some hard chatter, but that is not so much of a problem with the race tire. “Things tomorrow are going to depend on the weather. If the weather stays dry we will be right there, but there is a chance of rain and if that comes then it will be a bit of a lottery because none of us have turned a wheel in the wet this weekend.”
