American Kenny Noyes and his Palmeto Kawasaki team mate, Spaniard Javier Forés, will ride for Kawasaki France in the Bol d´Or 24 Hours at Magny-Cours on the 12th and 13th of September. The French team competes with full support from Pirelli, whereas the Spanish Palmeto Kawasaki team, Noyes, in Spanish 1000cc Extreme, and Forés, in Spanish Supersport, is contracted to Michelin, so the two Palmeto riders will need to adjust to different tires. Noyes, a former Spanish National Endurance Champion with Folch Yamaha, has competed three times at World Endurance level, finishing second twice in the Albacete Eight Hours in 2004 (with Yamaha) and 2008 (with Suzuki), and eighth in the 2005 Bol d´Or with a private French team. He has also finished second and third at the 24 Hours of Catalunya. Noyes and Forés will be joined by a French team mate to be named by Kawasaki France for extensive tests at Magny-Cours on August 22-23. Kenny Noyes “Endurance is a very different challenge and especially a big, classic 24 Hour race like the Bol d´Or. We hadn’t planned to do any endurance this season, but then Kawasaki France contacted us through Kawasaki Spain, so it is a go! I have been very close to winning at World Endurance level twice and once my team was leading the 24 Hours of Catalunya by six laps with four hours to go when my team mate had a brake problem and crashed. I am stoked because Kawasaki France has a fantastic record in the Bol d´Or.” “The way we approach a 24 Hour race is very different from an eight-hour sprint. Actually I was raised around Endurance racing. My dad won the Spanish Endurance Championship back in 1986, the last year they raced at Montjuich Park. Just looking at those stone walls and steel guardrails makes me glad to be a Twenty-first Century rider, and the atmosphere of racing day and night in front of that big French crowd on the Magny-Cours circuit is exciting.”
