American Mikey Lou Sanchez raced in the CIV Talent Spanish series at the Circuito de Jerez on October 1st. He raced a Corse Factory Moto4 bike.

Sanchez was racing with the front group every lap, trading positions during the race until Turn 13. The top four riders went in together, and Sanchez came out in second and held that position to the finish line.

“He already knows the track, so we came here to get ready for the upcoming ESBK race in two weeks and found some good battling, bumping, and drafting for Mikey to learn from,” said Michael Sanchez, Mikey Lou Sanchez’s father.

Bumping and bar banging was exactly what Sanchez found in Race Two. He ran at the front again. This time on the last lap in Turn 13, four riders entered mixed with a backmarker, and Sanchez was a little too hard on the gas. He spun the rear on his Moto4 racebike and got bucked up out of the seat. This killed his drive and ended up fourth at the finish.

“At first, I didn’t think I learned anything from that race. I just got P4. But really, I learned that if I get bumped, keep pushing, and if I have to, bump back,” said Sanchez.

Sanchez’s outing will be the ESBK Moto4 event October 14-15 at Jerez.

The races at that event will be streamed live on the RFME YouTube channel.
