PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce the hiring of a new advertising manager, Bob Buchanan. Buchanan will be responsible for selling advertising space in American Motorcyclist magazine, in the AMA Racer newsletter, and at AmericanMotorcyclist.com, as well as AMA event sponsorship and in support of other AMA properties. Buchanan, who is based in Southern California, joins AMA Advertising Manager Ray Monroe on the AMA sales staff. “We’re excited to have Bob on board,” said AMA Director of Business Development Jim Moore. “With a magazine that shines the light on our members and the motorcycling lifestyle, our rapidly improving event portfolio and our expanding government-relations activities, the AMA is positioning itself for significant growth. Bob will help lead the charge as we demonstrate the value of that growth to existing and future partners, which ultimately will benefit the AMA, its members and, by extension, the entire industry.” A 20-year veteran of the action sports business, Buchanan most recently was a regional sales director for Fox Racing. He brings his extensive industry knowledge and experience to the job. Buchanan is also an avid rider, both on the street and in enduro and desert racing. “American Motorcyclist magazine is in a unique position within the motorcycling industry,” Buchanan says. “It’s a publication that reaches to the core of the country’s motorcycle enthusiasts — the riders who care enough about the sport to help ensure its future by becoming AMA members. American Motorcyclist has an audience that is second to none, and I look forward to working with companies to help them exceed their goals with American Motorcyclist.” Buchanan can be reached at (310) 505-3241 or [email protected]. About the American Motorcyclist Association Since 1924, the AMA has protected the future of motorcycling and promoted the motorcycle lifestyle. AMA members come from all walks of life, and they navigate many different routes on their journey to the same destination: freedom on two wheels. As the world’s largest motorcycling rights organization, the AMA advocates for motorcyclists’ interests in the halls of local, state and federal government, the committees of international governing organizations, and the court of public opinion. Through member clubs, promoters and partners, the AMA sanctions more motorsports competition and motorcycle recreational events than any other organization in the world. AMA members receive money-saving discounts from dozens of well-known suppliers of motorcycle services, gear and apparel, bike rental, transport, hotel stays and more. Through its Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, the AMA preserves the heritage of motorcycling for future generations.
